New website!

Recently, I have taken a leap into the world of Children's Book Illustration!

This blog won't be updated anymore, but I don't have the heart to delete it as I've had it for years and it's nice to look back.

Buffy

Remember Buffy?! Remember how good it was?!

Mike Collins aka TikiMachine organised a bunch of artists to contribute to a charity show based on all the works of Joss Whedon, aptly named Whedonopolis and this was my contribution!

2016 - Update

Well...

Here we are again. The old, 'I've neglected my blog for so long' apology post!

No apology here! Just a promise to try to make more time for personal design and posting!

I have also started a tumblr which has *some* more new pieces.

A quick update on what I have been doing with the past many months.

First, MR BEAN! I was Art Directing on the 2nd Animated Series for just over a year through 2014/15. The whole series is finished now and currently airing on TV around the world! Also available on DVD!

Second, I am currently doing a simliar role on another TV series for Netflix/CBBC called the Kazoops! It is still in productions so I can't show anything yet :( but trust me, it's super cute!

Third, I had a short time working on my first feature film for Sony Pictures Animation. Obvs, top secret, defo can't show you anything from that but it was great fun and bit of a dream come true!

Hopefully 2016 brings every more wonderful work, hopefully more personal stuff than professional.

I went to Japan!

And I saw sumo wrestling! It was pretty awesome. Thank goodness I have my sketchbook!

Millington Associates Nike Models

To continue from my last post about the Nike commercial, The Last Game, I found out last week that the Nike store on Oxford Circus has larger than life models of the characters I designed for the commercial instore!

The company that are responsible for the wonderful work are Millington Associates and you can view the work they did for Nike on their website along with all the other great projects theyve done.

I've pinched a couple of their photos to show you here :P

And some shoddy photos I took myself like a nerd...

And it also made the Metro!!!

Nike - The Last Game

Pretty exciting! At the end of last year, I got to work on the character designs for the new Nike commercial that's just been released and I've been given the OK to share the designs with you lovely people!

You might recognise some of the characters here but there's also some other designs and characters that didn't make it into the final film.

It was a lot of fun to work on, as it's not my usual style. Tough work drawing muscly men all day but I guess someone's gotta do it *sigh*

Enjoy!

True Story

I saw this guy on a holiday in Budapest. We were in a local Hungarian etterem and this dude was supplying the entertainment. He may have been the fattest man I have ever seen with my own eyeballs but damn he could play that gee-tar.

What's your New Year's Resolution?

Aside from the good old exercise, eat less crap and be a better person, what new year's resolutions have you set for yourself?

It's probably pretty obvious from this post that one of mine was to go back to life drawing at least every other week. So on the first Monday of the new year, there I was in my old life drawing class! It was great. It's kind of like when you go to the gym after months on sitting on your ass doing nothing. It was a struggle to go after work but you feel better for doing it afterwards.

If you saw my previous blog post, you'll know that I started a new job and although it's great I won't be designing characters very much so another promise I've made to myself for the new year is to keep up the personal projects which I've also linked with ANOTHER resolution to read at least a book a month.

So watch this space for some literary inspired character designs! Hopefully...
